The Rooms at Hotel Privo
The room decor is modern minimalist. Some rooms feature large soaking tubs in the room. All feature glass walls and many have balconies.
Sharing the same piece of land as the hotel is a municipal park and an art nouveau villa which is part of the hotel. Villa Csonka was refurbished and now houses 3 rooms and 3 deluxe apartments open for guests.
Bathrooms feature rain showers. Each room has a small sitting area.

Facilities at Hotel Privo
The hotel has a small gym and spa with a hot tub and sauna. Massages and other treatments are available.
Bathrobes and slippers are provided in your room.
Specializing in wines, there is an extensive wine cellar and a tasting room for events. A bar is also located within the hotel.
Meeting facilities are also available and the hotel is popular with business travelers as well as tourists.
Dining at Hotel Privo
The hotel restaurant is one of the highlights of a stay at Hotel Privo. Breakfast is included in the rate and is served in the café. There is an outdoor terrace, weather permitting.
The first night of our stay we had a buffet dinner for the group we were traveling in, which gave us the opportunity to sample many things from the menu. In this short video you can watch the chef make pasta at the pasta bar on the buffet. It was fantastic.
We returned the second night to eat in the restaurant. The extensive wine cellar and wine list offer the chance to try Romanian wine by the glass or bottle with your meal. A la carte and tasting menu are available.
The restaurant specializes in an international menu, made with local and international ingredients. Compared to what you would pay in other parts of the world for a dinner of this quality, the menu is very affordable as is the wine list.
Our dinner here and tour of the wine cellars was one of the highlights of our trip through Romania. The food, service and wine are all excellent.
Location of Hotel Privo
Located in the center of Targu Mures, the hotel is easily reached by train or if driving. The train station is 1 kilometer from the hotel and free parking is available on site.
Targu Mures has a Medieval fortress or citadel including a brick factory, bronze workshop and very old wine cellar. The Palace of Culture is one of its most famous buildings. Targu Mures is near Mocăniţa, a historic steam train through the Vaser Valley, near Sovata, a wellness resort. As well, Sighisoara, a UNESCO world heritage town, where you can see and learn about fortified churches and life in a citadel during the time of the Saxons.
The Praid Salina Salt Mine and Wellness Center is also close to Targu Mures.
If you are traveling in the area, Sibiu, Cluj and Piatra Neamt are all within 2- 2.5 hours of Targu Mures.
Staying at Hotel Privo
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Privo in Targu Mures. If you are looking for a relaxing break, some great food and a chance to learn about the wines of Romania, this is an excellent choice.

Looks like a delightful place. My grand dad was from Transylvania; I plan to visit one day to see some of my family routes. Nice amenities too. You can’t go wrong with a nice little gym.
